Looking through one of my old recipe books, which I collect, a roughly torn slip of yellowed paper fell out.  There was a hand written recipe on it, with the name 'Edna' scrawled above it.  I haven't tested the recipe, but thought I'd share it! You use it at your own risk!


4 oz butter (125gr)
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 cups self raising flour
1 cup unsalted peanuts


Cream the butter and sugar, add egg, then flour and peanuts. Place in teaspoons on a greased tray.  Bake in a moderate oven for 20 minutes until brown.
