Kallista is a small and pretty village located in the mountain forests of the Dandenong Ranges, between Belgrave and Olinda.

The heart of Kallista is located at the junction of the roads to Monbulk and Emerald and is a combination of speciality shops and cafes. The community house in Church Street is the venue of the monthly Kallista Community Arts and Crafts Market which offers food, plants, craft stalls and entertainment.

Dandenong Ranges National Park and stunning Gardens surround Kallista, offering visitors walking tracks through native Australian bush in a scenic and mountainous environment. Picnic grounds are located on Perrins Creek Road at the footbridge which crosses Sassafras Creek and the popular Grants Picnic Ground within the Sherbrooke Forest.

Kallista offers some wonderful elevated views south across to Cardinia Reservoir can be enjoyed, while the lookout at Johns Hill Reserve, off Ridge Road, provides views north past Monbulk and south across Johns Hill reservoir towards Menzies Creek and Emerald.
